I am Melanin Bee, a Certified Laughter Yoga Wellness Instructor. I created Laughastè Yoga to help you 'Laughastè', an intentional practice that uses laughter to modulate emotions and regulate the nervous system. I am Melanin Bee, the founder of Laughastè Yoga and a Certified Laughter Yoga Wellness Instructor trained in the Dr. Madan Kataria lineage. My mission is to help bridge the gap between playful laughter and the grounding "work" of traditional yoga and somatic healing.
I noticed that even the most blissful lives can be stressful, and our bodies often react with a "distress response." Our nervous systems don't always distinguish between the "Ooowee!" of excitement and the "Ooowee!" of overwhelm. Without a way to regulate that energy, we self-sabotage, burn out, or feel disconnected from the joy that is always available to us.
I developed Laughastè Yoga to be the somatic bridge that expands your "vessel." It is a practice that helps meet your body where it is. All while using the biological medicine of Laughter to keep your nervous system regulated, safe, and ready to receive.
